Heat Seal Backing

BH EMBLEMS HEAT SEAL APPLICATION GUIDELINES

For best results, apply heat seal patches using a commercial heat press.

Recommended Starting Settings

  • Temperature: 325°F (163°C)
  • Time: 15–20 seconds
  • Pressure: Medium to firm pressure (approximately 40–60 PSI)

Allow the patch to cool before checking adhesion. Apply a second press if necessary.

Recommended Fabrics: Cotton, polyester, and cotton/polyester blends.

Not Recommended: Heat-sensitive materials such as nylon, leather, silk, wool, fleece, waterproof, or coated fabrics unless tested first.

Caps: Structured caps, curved surfaces, and thick seams may require different settings or a cap-specific heat press. Always test one cap before production.

For garments subject to industrial laundering, heavy wear, or maximum durability requirements, BH Emblems recommends sewing the patch after heat application or sewing it on without heat application.
